NEWMAN ARCHITECTURE CELEBRATES 25TH ANNIVERSARY
NAPERVILLE – Newman Architecture celebrated its 25th anniversary in business in October by hosting a reception at Warrenville Public Library. That site was chosen due to its dual significance in the firm’s history: the original library building was one of Newman’s earliest projects, and its significant expansion and renovation was also designed by the firm.
“We were proud to celebrate our 25th anniversary in Warrenville Library,” notes Chuck Newman, owner and president of Newman Architecture. “Proud, of course, to see the beauty and functionality of the space we designed, but, more importantly, proud to know that our relationships with our clients don’t end when the ribbon is cut.
“When the project is done, more than a structure has been built – we’ve built a relationship with an even stronger foundation,” he adds. “When former clients come back after 10 years for an event like this, that says a great deal, and we are tremendously grateful.”
Guests at the reception included current and former clients, colleagues in the architecture, design and construction industries, and several local dignitaries, including Naperville Mayor George Pradel and Warrenville Mayor David Brummel.
Newman Architecture opened its doors in 1982 as Charles Newman and Associates, with the first associate being Dawn Ruth, a licensed interior designer. Building on that unique combination of architectural and design services, the firm has enjoyed steady growth over the years. The company name was changed to Newman Architecture in 2004 when Ruth, along with Licensed Architects Matt Hichens and Leanne Meyer-Smith, were named principals of the firm.
The firm offers professional architectural as well as in-house interior design services that incorporate the art, the science and the profession of designing buildings, specializing in educational, religious, municipal and corporate projects.
